ENTERING HONORS PROGRAM CLASS OF FALL 2023

After you have been admitted to Georgia Tech, you will receive an email from the Office of Admissions inviting you to apply for admission to the Honors Program.  Students admitted for the summer or fall term begin in the fall.  Students admitted for the spring term begin in the spring.  Our selection process is holistic: our goal is to identify transfer students who will benefit from and contribute to our Honors Program Living Learning Community.  We give primary consideration to the following:

           (a) Honors Program application essay.

           (b) Information from the Georgia Tech Office of Undergraduate Admission.

For transfer students, the Honors Program fee is $500 (or $250 for transfer students who are admitted in the spring semester).  Transfer Honors Program students will be charged $250 in fall semester and $250 in spring semester (or $250 in spring semester only for those admitted in the spring).  There is no fee after the first year (or first semester, for spring transfer students).  Our entering class of both first year and transfer students is limited by the design of the Honors Program residence hall.  Gender-inclusive housing is available for Honors Program students.  To read more about gender-inclusive housing at Georgia Tech, visit the Housing website.

For information on housing rates for Eighth Street East and South, go to the Housing and Residence Life website.

TRANSFER CREDIT APPROVAL

For transfer students who have taken honors program or honors college classes at their college or university before coming to Georgia Tech, up to six (6) credit hours of honors classes may be considered for application to the GT Honors Program.  To have your prior honors classes reviewed, please submit a copy of the syllabus and information about the program (e.g., a link to an online program description) to the Honors Program

Transfer students may submit up to three credit hours of independent undergraduate research for consideration for transfer credit.  To be eligible for Honors Program credit, the class must be completed for credit (not pay) and on a letter grade basis.  To request authorization, please complete this form

Transfer students may also submit up to three credit hours of select study abroad classes for consideration for transfer credit.  The classes must have been taken in an accredited study abroad program, be small in size, involve active learning, and be on a globally-focused topic.  To have your study abroad classes reviewed, please submit a copy of the syllabus and information about the size of the class and the study abroad program (e.g., a link to an online program description) to the Honors Program.

Please note that students may transfer up to six (6) credit hours TOTAL, through a combination of prior honors program/honors college classes, undergraduate research, and/or study abroad classes.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR HP ENTERING CLASS MAY FILL BEFORE THE DEADLINE: In order to officially accept your invitation to the HP, you must first pay your Georgia Tech admissions deposit and complete your fall housing contract.  YOU MUST COMPLETE THESE TWO STEPS FIRST IN ORDER TO ACCEPT YOUR INVITATION.  Note that it can take up to 24 hours for each form to process.

We encourage you to accept your invitation as soon as possible, as we fill our positions on a first-come, first-served basis until we reach the capacity of our residence halls, so your space is not guaranteed until you accept. If we are unable to confirm your admission, you can choose to join our waitlist and we may be able to confirm your admission later, should space become available.
